CONSULTATIVE WORKSHOP SERIES WITH STAKEHOLDERS CULMINATES IN SPUG BICOL OPERATIONS LEGAZPI CITY

On April 6, 2017, the 8th and final leg of the series of Consultative Workshops on Planning and Forecasting for Missionary Electrification was held at Hotel Venezia in Legazpi City, Bicol Region. The event was hosted by SPUG’s Bicol Operations Division and was participated by General Managers and planners from the Distribution Utilities (DUs) of CASURECO IV, FICELCO, MASELCO and TICELCO. Mayors and planners from the LGUs of Cawayan, Placer, Rapu-Rapu, San Pascual and Claveria were likewise in attendance, as well as representatives from DOE, NEA and APEC.

Among those who graced the activity were Hon. Froilan V. Andueza, Mayor of Claveria, Ms. Nora Oñate, Vice-Mayor of Rapu-Rapu, Mr. Eduardo N. Margallo and Mr. Ricardo P. Largo, General Managers of MASELCO and TICELCO, Mr. Ric Roberto Gonzales and Mr. Jonathan Valles, planners from CASURECO and FICELCO, Mr. Bonifacio Francisco and Mr. Mark Anthony Pateño of LGU Cawayan and San Pascual and representatives from APEC, NEA and DOE namely Ms. MarivicRanara, Mr. Rodolfo Evangelista and Ms. Hemely Grace Lachica.

The objective of the workshops conducted with the stakeholders in missionary areas through the joint efforts of teams from RMD/CAG and OPPAD/SPUG are the following:

  1. Harmonize all potential power requirements from the Local Government Units (LGUs) and Distribution Utilities (DU) in order for NPC to have realistic/doable projections on the additional power supply in the area;
  2. Review the Power Supply Agreement (PSA) with SPUG’s Distribution Utilities; and
  3. Identify areas (barangays) for electrification

From this activity, information from stakeholders thru hard technical data and one-on-one consultations on electrification plans and issues, particularly with regards to power demand were provided. This information will be the input in the development of five (5) years program in the Missionary Electrification Plan (MEP) of NPC which will be submitted to DOE and ERC for approval.
