Four (4) Engineering students from the University of Cebu, Electrical Engineering Department have concluded their On-The-Job Training at Pilar Diesel Power Plant (DPP) last May 23, 2016.
Madilo S. Diendo, Maeciel T. Ferrer, Jay Ariel Lodovice, and John Kevin V. Ayuban started rendering their 240 hours OJT on the said SPUG Visayas power plant last April 11, 2016.
On top of the theories given at school, the training equipped the students with practical skills and know-how, especially on the nitty-gritty of operations and maintenance works of a power plant.
Aside from the technical learning, the students were also treated with the social facet of the operations work when they had the opportunity to meet, up close and personal, NPC President Ma. Gladys Cruz-Sta. Rita during the inauguration of the new 1x300kW generating set and fuel oil storage tanks at Pilar DPP.
Indeed, NPC-SPUG is not only true to its being a provider of reliable electricity service to its consumers; but being a world class corporation, it extends its scope through giving our future engineers a venue for a learning experience.
