TOP NPC HONCHO RETIRES FROM GOVERNMENT SERVICE
By: Ramil C. Lucero
On 20 June 2016, Monday, a simple yet successful ceremony was held at the NPC-Multi-Purpose Hall to honor Mr. Katambayan S. Celino, Vice-President-Power Engineering Service (PES) for his selfless dedication and service to the National Power Corporation (NPC).
Fondly called as “Boss Bay” to his colleague, mates and subordinates for his being a down-to-earth person, he had retired as a fulfilled and happy boss knowing full well that he left the Corporation, which is grateful to him for all the services he had rendered.
Boss Bay, who turned 65 on 21 June 2016, had been in service to the country’s premier power industry for a solid period of 42 years from 1974. As a devoted public servant, he was always on top of his management decision making. Albeit described by persons closest to him as a “perfectionist” when it comes to work ethic, Boss Bay is an affectionate and a warm boss.
As Vice-President of PES, he was on top and had been responsible for the completion of SPUG’s transmission lines (T/L) and substations (S/S) projects around the Philippines.
