SPUG Holds its CY 2017 Stakeholders Forum for Missionary Electrification in Western Mindanao Area

NPC-SPUG recently held its CY 2017 Stakeholder's Forum for Missionary Electrification in Western Mindanao Area on 24 January 2017 at the Garden Orchid Hotel in Zamboanga City.
The forum was attended by various stakeholders from the Local Government Units (LGUs) of Zamboanga City, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi areas headed by Mayors and Electric Cooperatives (ECs) of Zamboanga Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ZAMCELCO), Basilan Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BASELCO), Tawi-Tawi Electric Cooperative, Inc. (TAWELCO), Cagayan de Sulu Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CASELCO), Sulu Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SULECO) and Siasi Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SIASELCO) which are represented by its Board Presidents and General Managers.
It was focused on the presentations on the performances of NPC and ECs and the power outlooks and plans in the Western Mindanao areas. Also, conducted was the review of Power Supply Agreements and updates on Municipal Power Association.
It was fortunate for the group that a representative from Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) graced the occasion thru Asec. Romeo Montenegro, Deputy Executive Director, who presented the Mindanao Economic Development Corridor of BASULTA area. His presentation gave the participants overview on the government's programs for the said area.
An open forum capped off the event wherein concerns of stakeholders were tackled. This is the first of a series that NPC will conduct in 2017.
